Remembering Philly's Black Bottom with Dr. Walter Palmer

Video by WHYY with Dr. Walter Palmer sharing his memories of growing up in the Black Bottom, what was once a tight knit Black community in Philadelphia. In the 60s, he organized the fight against the demolition of his neighborhood. Now home to Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania, the Black Bottom Tribe is fighting for historical markers and a community center to remember their home.
